REGISTER NEW ZEALAND INC. NATIONAL WEEKEND 2011 The National Weekend in Wanganui promises to be another great TR get-together and an opportunity to travel through areas of the Wanganui and Rangitikei regions both steeped in interesting history. Wanganui was one of the oldest port towns in New Zealand and the Whanganui river provided one of the only access way to the North Island interior. Rangitikei also has much history, mainly farming and small towns. The Weekend will get underway on Thursday evening with Check-in at the Quality Inn Collegiate Motor Inn. Friday morning will start with the Concours judging, this will be within 100 metres of one of the best presented town centres in NZ, allowing the Ladies to go shopping for the morning and others to view one of the top Maori artefact Museums or The Sarjeant Art Gallery. After the judging we will travel to our luncheon stop before a short tour and then our mystery event in the late afternoon/evening. Saturday will be our main tour which will take us out through the back country of Wanganui, windy but scenic tar sealed roads, into the Rangitikei region where we will stop for a luncheon before making our way back to Wanganui for the Official dinner at the Quality Motor Inn. On Sunday we will take a short tour before returning to the Wanganui Racecourse for our final luncheon etc.

The main Accommodation, Registration/check-in, Saturday evening meal and any forums will be at The Quality Inn Collegiate, Wanganui. A large number of rooms have been booked for the Register but as this period is a very busy one it is very advisable to book early to avoid disappointment. Alternative accommodation is available approx 120 metres away at Midtown Motor Inn. Both Motels are of good standard, within 300 metres of Supermarkets, Liquor outlets, food and a BP 98 station. There is plenty of off street parking and car washing facilities at both Motels. At Quality Inn, there are up to 20 car parks available in an underground facility accessed by personal keys. These are for those booked in the main section of the Motel which is serviced by elevator. Ask when checking in. All other units have car parks.
Further info will be entered on the web site as it comes to hand.
